The publisher and owner of Haaretz hates Bibi so much he doesnt care if the lies and half truths he writes causes the slaughter of Jews worldwide or more antiIsrael hate as long as it dislodges Bibi. How he could even defame the IDF makes him a traitor and he should be treated as such. And now with Iran being such a spectacular success, Bibi is actually more entrenched than ever in Israeli politics, so haaretz's publisher is completely losing his mind.
Amos Schocken doesn't just hate Bibi. He addressed an audience in London in November 2024 wherein he described Hamas as "freedom fighters", forcing his own newspaper to publish a rebuke of their own publisher to stem the flood of subscription cancellations.
In a country with a free press there really can’t be sanctions per se. I know that they are no longer allowed at government functions. I suppose they could investigate them for ties to terror groups but I doubt that even Haaretz supports Hamas or Hezbollah or ISIS
There are editorial rules and I think nearly all of them have been broken here.

Excellent analysis. Builds on the important Henry Jackson report. Tied in with Fox’s combat experience (something that few commentators have), it is all the more credible and compelling.
English Haaretz is a bizarre place.. I was subscribed for a while (until they literally dumped an Al-Jazeera stream into their live feed to provide coverage for a hostage release). The comment section on their articles are overflowing with antisemitism and pro-Hamas propaganda.. I don’t know if it’s strategically being targeted by bots or what’s going on, but they surely don’t seem to mind it much..
Several weeks ago Canadian news was focused on an incident that involved a delegation of Canadian officials that took place in the West Bank. Reporting on the CBC claimed that the IDF fired shots "at" the delegation, which had deviated from an agreed route. Canadian Foreign Affairs responded with great indignation and the Israeli government promised an investigation. I've heard nothing further since about this incident, but strongly suspect that it was a case of warning shots being fired, and not a case of direct fire. But of course the news cycle has moved on. (Admittedly, there's been far too much news out of the region in the interim.)
Haaretz has gone from a left wing Israeli paper to pure agitprop for Hamas. Luckily few read it anywhere in the world outside of the salons of the anointed. I think given that its war time it borders on seditious.
This is par for the course with Haaretz, and you’re right, this story is being lapped up by the hate-Israel crowd and by those who were just itching to smugly write, “See? I TOLD you that those evil Jews are every bit the murderous psychopaths I always believed them to be.”
Timely welcome analysis, we can feel the exasperation and share it. Such gutter journalism, repeated in the press here with quotation marks, but still repeated.
While Andrew's substack is a convincing and necessary refutation of the Ha-aretz article, it also gets us no closer to the truth of what is actually happening at the food distribution sites. I have to wonder why the IDF does not seem to permit Western journalists to observe the distributions first hand. Even Andrew has to speculate as to whose shooting is causing the casualties.
I recognize, as Andrew points out, this is an active war zone, but journalists in other conflicts have been "embedded" in combat units or otherwise managed to make it to the fighting. Andrew's is one of the few voices I feel I can look to for neutral, unbiased assessments of the situation in Gaza and the Middle East. It would be great if Andrew could weigh in on whether and why, Western journalists have not been permitted to be first person observers of the situation.
Andrew, very good work. I haven't read Haaretz in a long time because every article I come across is a mixture of lies, propaganda and shameless manipulation.
I have encountered the most sophisticated forms of propaganda, so I can tell when the media is trying to manipulate the reader's opinion and emotions.
Haaretz headlines always carry the main narrative they want to convey to the reader, and they do not correspond to what is written in the article itself. The reader himself already associates the false narrative and adjusts it to the idea of the headline.
For example, today the Hebrew version gave the headline:
"IDF on Haaretz Exposure: Lessons Learned from the Shooting of Civilians in Gaza"
That is, judging by the headline, the reader understands that "the shooting of civilians" is a fact from which lessons are learned. The essence of the article is a little different, but it does not allow for the possibility that the events could have been different from those presented by Haaretz, although there is no evidence for this.
The manipulations of assumptions are so piled one on top of another that it is impossible to even refute them, because each concept replaces the other and this would take a very long time.
The authors of Haaretz are not just falsifiers and liars. Normal people cannot lie like that even for a lot of money. They are simply sick, obsessed people with a deformed consciousness.

So maybe he should be investigated for ties to terror orgs. This is definitely not a well man.
I totally agree. This is traitorous. Haaretz has gone far beyond editorial standards and should be formally sanctioned.

And what is the punishment other than derision? It is a moral stain, but not criminal. Maybe libelous if someone wants to sue

I remember that story. I think it was a delegation of foreign reporters from various countries. All of the coverage was about the shots.
No, this was a small delegation of Canadian dips and staffers

Sky News Uk. Wing of Hamas. 🤦♀️
Excellent refutation of the anti IDF propaganda.
Excellent article and a relief to read. Is it shareable?
